The Wellington Fire Protection District is accepting applications for the position of

This process will determine a limited eligibility list for potential future openings.  This position is an entry-level firefighter that will work an anticipated 48/96 shift schedule upon successful completion of the fire academy.  Upon successful completion of the academy, Grade I FF compensation includes $50,000/annualized with shift assignment and a competitive benefits package.  The entry-level firefighter is typically supervised by the Lieutenant, and duties include emergency response, public education, training, station and equipment maintenance, and other duties as assigned.

Minimum requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current State of Colorado EMTB
  • Current CPR Provider

(Required by academy start date)

  • CPAT certificate

Highly desired qualifications:

  • Current State of Colorado EMTP
  • Current State of Colorado Firefighter I Certification
  • NWCG Wildland Firefighter II
  • NIMS 100 & 700
