9Health Fair
Wellington Recreation will again host a 9Health Fair on April 17, 2010!! Thank you to the many volunteers and community businesses who made last years event a huge success. We will again need the help of many volunteers and local businesses to run this event. If you or someone you know is interested in helping out please contact us (click here to email us). Click here to download a volunteer form. The 9Health Fair offers many free or low cost medical screenings which require many volunteers to run. Click here to view a brochure detailing screenings available.

Wellington Recreation’s youth sports are powered by volunteers. We are always looking for dedicated individuals to help out. If you or someone you know would like to work with the youth programs please contact Jake ( volunteer@townofwellington.com) for more information. Wellington Recreation is proud to be affiliated with the National Alliance of Youth Sports to provide training for our volunteer coaches.
Wellington Recreation also offers the National Alliance of Youth Sports Start Smart programs. Start Smart is a program designed to teach young children the basic motor skills necessary to play organized sports while they work one-on-one and spend quality time with their parents. Start Smart sessions are held once a week for six weeks with the exercises becoming increasingly more difficult as the class progresses. Registration can be done online ( click here to register) or at the Recreation Office (Suite A in the Leeper Center). Registration periods end at midnight for online customers and 6:00PM for walk in customers. Jerseys purchased online are to be picked up at the Recreation Office (receipt required). Jerseys may be returned if they are clean and have not been washed. Once players have been assigned to a roster they are eligible for a 75% refund, refunds of registration fees will not be given after the first scheduled game or meeting.
A couple notes on rosters. Studies show that kids would rather play and lose than sit on the bench and win. With this in mind, Wellington Recreation strives to keep rosters small so kids will have more opportunity to play. Rosters are built using data collected using skill drills performed on Roster Assignment Days. Everyone who registers will be placed on a team, player evaluations are intended to help preserve parity and ensure a competitive league with no one dominant team. With this in mind parents are encouraged to make every effort to ensure that all registrants participate in Roster Assignment Days. Please note that roster requests are not guaranteed and will only be considered for registrants who participate in the Roster Assingnment Day.
Registration opens at 12:30PM and closes at 6:00PM on dates listed.
Online registration generally opens two days early and lasts two days later.
