If the storm left you with a mess, here is some helpful information to ensure people and property stay safe!
Completely remove all broken or damaged limbs before assessing the condition of a structure. Seek professional assistance for tree and limb structure assessment or removal if needed. Removing limbs will help limit potential accidents or additional damage.
Once removed, you may drop-off tree limbs across from Wellington Middle School off 6th street (same location for Christmas tree recycling). Only tree limbs are being accepted at this location, all other waste must be disposed of properly.
If you suspect roof damage from falling limbs, contact a professional roofing company to assess the damage and provide guidance for any necessary repairs. A roofing permit is required for major damage needing repair or if the entire roof needs to be replaced. Individuals with specific questions regarding their roofing company's repair recommendation may contact Eli Johnston at SAFEbuilt for guidance on if a permit is required (contact info below).

Fences that may be damaged are less urgent than home/roof repairs. Damaged fences may be repaired with like-for-like, (same materials, same height, same location) without a permit. If a fence is being removed and replaced, or if the materials, height, location changed, a permit is required. Residents that are unsure if their fence project is a repair or if a permit is required may contact the Building Department at 970-568-3354 or
