Town of Wellington Annual July Fourth Celebration – Reach for the Stars  

The Annual Fourth of July Celebration in Wellington, CO returns this year on Tuesday, July 4, 2023. Wellington’s proud tradition of celebrating Independence Day will be filled with fun for the whole family! 

 

Celebration Schedule:  

  • Parade – 10 a.m. on Cleveland Ave. This year's theme is “Reach for the Stars.”  Register online by June 20. 

  • Pancake Breakfast Hosted by The Filling Station from 7 a.m. – 10 a.m.

  • Beer Garden and Skate Jam Hosted by American Legion Wellington Post 176 and Sk8well 10:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Centennial Park) 

  • Festival at Wellington Community Park from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. 

(8760 Buffalo Creek Parkway) 

  • Fireworks Display by Bee Lake Productions beginning at 9:30 p.m. on Sixth Street across from Eyestone Elementary SchoolThe former Wellington Middle School field located at 4001 Wilson Ave, Wellington, CO 80549, will not be available as a viewing area due to construction. Alternatively, please view the show from the field at Eyestone Elementary which has been reserved for the event.  

Shuttle Available 

Shuttle service will be available through generous sponsorship from Wellington Colorado Mainstreet Program. The shuttle service will run from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with drop off and pickup locations outside of the Municipal Services Building (Third Street) and the intersection of E County Road 64 and Buffalo Creek Pkwy. 

 

Road Closure Information 

  • Cleveland Ave. (State HWY-1) will be closed from 6 a.m. to noon.  

  • Buffalo Creek Parkway from Stampede Dr. to Iron Horse Way will close from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m 

  • Sixth Street from Grant Ave. to Washington Ave. will be closed from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. for the fireworks display.  

On-street parking will be available throughout the day, but residents are encouraged to walk, bike, or carpool as space is limited.  

 

Special accommodation requests for this event can be emailed to ADA@wellingtoncolorad.gov by June 19, 2023.
